What to Expect

What to Expect
When you are looking for a veterinary care clinic you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service.  We, at Radbill Animal Hospital in Philadelphia PA, have an expert team of veterinary professionals to bring you the best possible healthcare for your pet.  We have a very cozy office that will make you feel right at home, and is clean, comfortable, and efficient.  Call 215-969-8950 to schedule an appointment and we will find a time that is convenient for you.Your pets should see the doctor once a year, for "adult" pets, and twice a year for "senior" pets, for a complete check-up.  This will include a head to tail physical exam, and if needed, vaccines, blood work, recommendations on diet, dental cleanings recommendations, heart worm and flea and tick preventatives, and much more.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask after your pet has had his/her check-up and the doctor will be happy to answer them at that time.
Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to our vet clinic.  It's best to keep a journal of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts.  If you have something like this, please share it with our team.  If not, let us know everything that you think will be important.  Dr. Radbill will work with whatever information you have.

In some circumstances, Dr. Radbill will refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.

What is included in the price I pay for each of the following "packages"?

Spay or neuter: The price includes the surgical castration or ovariohysterectomy of your pet to prevent unwanted puppies or kittens
The price includes the procedure, using a laser instead of a scalpel blade.  The pain medications "package" includes an injection of pain medications after the surgical procedure is complete, while your pet is still on the operating table, an Elizabethan Collar, or "cone of shame" - as noted in 'Disney-Pixar's Movie "UP"', and pain medications to go home with.  We also now can offer your pet a garment called "After Surgery Wear".  This seems to be the best solution to the Elizabethan collar as far as I (Wanda) am concerned,  We can fit the garment before your pet leaves the hospital, but we still will send you home with the collar, just in case   (See the picture of little Bella below sporting her "After Surgery Wear".)

For feline declaws, the price includes the procedure, the overnight stay, and a 5-pound bag of Yesterdays News litter to get you started. The pain medication "package" includes an injection of pain medication after the procedure, antibiotic pills for 10 days (or you can opt for a antibiotic injection that will last for 2 weeks and would be a $45.00 price addition for the injection), as well as pain medications to continue pain management at home.

For Growth/Tumor removals, the cost includes the cost for the actual procedure, and follow up
appointment
** (Biopsies are highly recommended and are an additional charge from the surgical cost)**

Dental Procedures: include a professional sub and supra gingival scaling, charting of each tooth, and polishing, just like we have done at our dental appointments.

(This is for a routine dental cleaning only, extractions and dental radiographs are additional - please see the Dental page above).

Picture
This is little Bella in her "After Surgery Wear".  She;s comfortable and can "do her business" without having to remove the garment or untying any of it.  For male dogs, if you opt for this garment, we do recommend that when  you take them out to relieve themselves, that you untie the last two to three ties and remove the garment from the back legs or remove it all together,
